President Saca and USAID Director Formally Donate 619 permanent family homes in Ahuachapan

, USAID Director Mark Silverman, and several Salvadoran officials formally donated 619 houses to beneficiary families in the municipality of Ahuachapan.

On June 11, President Tony Saca, USAID Director Mark Silverman, and several Salvadoran officials formally donated 619 houses to beneficiary families in the municipality of Ahuachapan.

The houses are part of a total of 26, 000 houses that are being constructed in 110 municipalities of El Salvador under the Earthquake Reconstruction Program financed by the U.S. government through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

For the 619 houses donated on June 11, USAID provided funding totalling $2.4 million. So far, more than 22,000 houses have been built under this program and more than 3,000 are currently under construction.
