15 new Peace Corps Volunteers Sworn-in

Fifteen new Peace Corps Volunteers who will work in the field of municipal development were sworn in on Thursday, August 19, in a ceremony at the US Embassy. Salvadoran Vice President, Ana Vilma de Escobar spoke at the ceremony, which was presided over by Philip French, the Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission, and Michael Wise, Director of Peace Corps El Salvador.

Fifteen new Peace Corps Volunteers who will work in the field of municipal development were sworn in on Thursday, August 19, in a ceremony at the US Embassy. Salvadoran Vice President, Ana Vilma de Escobar spoke at the ceremony, which was presided over by Philip French, the Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission, and Michael Wise, Director of Peace Corps El Salvador.

The new volunteers (8 women and 7 men) come from 12 different U.S.states and will serve in 15 different municipalities spread across 11 of the 14 departments of El Salvador. The new volunteers will join 110 others working municipal development, agro-forestry and rural health and sanitation.
