*****

Ambassador Charles L. Glazer spoke at the launching of the Third Height Census with Salvadoran First Lady Ana Ligia de Saca , Minister of Health Guillermo Maza Brizuela, and representatives of United Nations Agencies and the Pan American Health Organization.
The Third National Height Census will provide critical children's health information to the Government of El Salvador, international donors and other institutions, allowing them to focus their nutrition assistance on the children in greatest need.
The U.S. government, through USAID, has provided $135,000 to train teachers and health personnel who will participate in the census and for printing census materials. Other donors participating in the 2007 census include: United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), World Food Program (WFP), and Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/INCAP).
