Third Anti-Gang Course Begins at ILEA

ILEA San Salvador inaugurated its third anti-gang course with a ceremony on June 1 that featured remarks by ILEA Co-Directors Hobart Henson and Hugo Cordova, Salvadoran National Police Chief Rodrigo Avila, Kathleen O'Connor of the Department of Justice, and National Council on Public Security President Oscar Bonilla.
The 42 participants in the eight-day course are police supervisors, prosecutors, gang-prevention and rehabilitation experts, and prison officials from El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico.
The course's comprehensive interagency and international approach includes lectures, field trips, and time for the participants to get to know one another and share best practices. The course was organized by the Department of Justice.
