American Theater Group Entertains Salvadoran Orphans

The 24th Street Theatre's Apollo Group, from Los Angeles, entertained an excited group of Salvadoran orphans with their play, “The Garden of the Kings’’.
The Apollo Group performed “El Jardín de los Reyes” (The Garden of the Kings) in front of an audience of about 150 children from the San Vicente de Paul Orphanage in San Salvador. Following the play performance, members of the group taught theater games to the children.
The US Embassy sponsored the participation of the Los Angeles performers during the opening of the 9th theater season at the Poma Theater.
The Apollo Group offered six performances in El Salvador. In addition, they gave workshops and taught theater games to students from the National Arts Center (CENAR), the Salvadoran-American Cultural Center, Don Bosco University, and schools from the city of Soyapango.
