On July 3rd the Embassy celebrated the 232nd anniversary of the Independence of the United States with a reception given by Ambassador Charles L. Glazer. Salvadoran President Elías Antonio Saca and Vice President Ana Vilma de Escobar joined the festivities.
Ambassador Glazer and his wife Janet greeted the guests, including many politicians, Salvadoran government officials, Embassy contacts, and diplomatic corps members. Ambassador Glazer’s remarks recalled the democratic values the Founding Fathers left as their legacy to the United States. Despite inclement weather, the Salvadoran sky cleared for a while just in time for everybody to enjoy an impressive fireworks show.
